Reed Bros. is a small northern California design studio manufacturing beautiful handmade and hand carved wooden furniture and accessories for fine homes, hotels, restaurants, and resorts. Each piece is made to order and carved to order by the skilled artists and crafts people at Reed Bros. The integration of whimsical design and superlative woodcarving distinguishes Reed Bros.’ unique furniture from all others.
Reed Bros. is owned and operated by Duncan Reed. He has been carving and creating his one-of-a-kind designs since 1975. A love of art, travel, and history has provided constant inspiration. Visiting with woodcarvers in Bali, China, Taiwan, Thailand, Ecuador, Africa, and Germany has broadened his carving style. Studying period cabinetry in Italy, Austria, France, England, Spain, and China has added sophistication to his designs and finishes.

13 Collections of Outdoor Furniture in Redwood and Sonoma Cypress.
Redwood has long been one of the most desirable woods for outdoor use. The natural tannins in redwood make it highly resistant to decay and insect damage. Left outdoors the furniture is durable, requires very little maintenance, and weathers beautifully.
As the furniture ages, cracks in the wood and variation in the wood’s color will develop. This weathering process is completely normal and adds to the charm of the pieces.

Reed Bros.’ Freestone, Barkwood, Washoe, & Milano Collections are made of Sonoma Cypress, a plentiful, indigenous wood that is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. The furniture is available in 6 finishes.

Beautifully crafted bedroom sets, dining sets, armoires, entertainment centers, office furniture, chairs, mirrors, lighting etc. are exquisitely carved with unusual designs and then finished with one of 15 lovely lacquer pine finishes. These are heirloom quality pieces to be passed down through generations.

Woodcarving
Woodcarving is a highly skilled and physically demanding art. Chiseling flora and fauna from raw milled wood takes years of training. Reed Bros.’ furniture and accessories are all carved by hand at the Sebastopol studio. No two pieces are exactly alike.
Custom woodcarving is Reed Bros.’ trademark. Personalizing a fine piece of furniture with a totally unique woodcarving adds depth and character to the piece. Some of Reed Bros.’ finest work has been inspired by the original ideas of their clients.
